Wendy Cowan resides in Woods Cross with her husband and two children. Mrs. Cowan graduated from Dixie College with an Associate of Science degree. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1994 from Utah State University. She currently holds a K-8 State of Utah Level II Educator’s License. She received her Early Childhood Endorsement in 2014. She taught 5th grade in Davis School District for seven years. She has been tutoring children ages 3-14 for 15 years. She owned her own preschool for six years in Woods Cross before certifying to teach Kindergarten. She is excited to start her fourth year of Kindergarten here at Quest.

Mrs. Cowan has a passion for teaching. She considers her work more of a privilege than a job. The only thing more rewarding than seeing her students discover, progress and excel, is seeing these qualities in her own children. “There is nothing quite as exciting as seeing a light bulb turn on in a child’s eyes.”

She finds it especially satisfying to teach Kindergarteners due to their impressionable minds. “It is so easy to fall in love with children who want nothing more than to please their teacher and understand all the wonders of the world.” Literature is her passion. She absolutely LOVES books and hopes to instill this love with her students. William Butler Yeats describes her philosophy of teaching:

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” William Butler Yeats

When she is not teaching, she loves to vacation with her family and friends to the beach! She finds the outdoors and nature fascinating. She likes to discover new places, animals and natural wonders in our world. She is thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at Quest Academy.

Hello, I am Cindi Hill. This is my 9th year at Quest Academy. My first six years with Quest Academy, I was privileged to work in special education and intervention K-5. I have spent the last 2 years in 1st grade. I have been involved with DIBELS testing for several of those years and have been part of the Child Study Team. As much as I loved 1st grade, I am so excited to be in Kindergarten this year. What a dream come true.

My husband Ryan and I have been married for 21 years. We have two wonderful children who both attended Quest Academy in their elementary school years. Our son Ryker graduated High School this last year from Fremont High School and will be leaving in September on a 2 year mission to Portland, OR. Our Daughter is 15 years old and will being attending Fremont High School this year as a sophomore.

I enjoy traveling, reading, crafting, movies, and playing games with friends and family. I love theater popcorn, I don’t enjoy cooking, and I would love to learn to play the piano someday. I love life and all that it gives us.

I am so excited to get started on this upcoming school year and see all that these little ones are going to achieve!

I’m Stacey McBride, and I’m thrilled about being able to work in kindergarten at Quest Academy. For over 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with kids. I’ve loved their enthusiasm for life and their thirst for knowledge. Because of my love for children, I decided to go back to school and finish my education degree. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in ESL (English as a Second Language) from Weber State University.

For several years, I have also owned and operated my own preschool and have loved every minute of it. I’ve been married to my amazing husband and best friend for over 20 years and have loved being a mom to my three beautiful children. I enjoy camping with my family, being outdoors, watching movies, reading a good book, and most of all… traveling.

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach children in other parts of the world, serving with an international humanitarian group. As the education mentor in Thailand and Peru, I was able to help give these children and their families the educational tools that will assist them in getting out of poverty. I’m looking forward to getting to know the students in my new class, and starting our new learning adventures together.

I met my forever love my senior year of high school at a Jazz Basketball game. We will celebrate our 23rd anniversary this September. Our home has been blessed with three beautiful, talented children. Taylor is 22 working on his Bachelor’s degree at Weber. McKenzee will turn 19 this September and is going to school for culinary arts. Connor turns 14 in August and will be in 8th grade at Q2. Our family also gained another daughter, Mady, with the marriage of our oldest son.

I have a passion for education! My love of teaching began at a very young age. I love seeing the children’s face light up when they grasp a new concept! Education runs deep for me. My father, two aunts, my sister, my brother, and I are all educators. I’m so excited to be returning to teach first grade at Quest this year!

Soccer is our family’s sport of choice. We all play and are very active in our local, all volunteer run, American Youth Soccer Organization. If we are not at home, odds are that we can be found on a soccer field.

I enjoy traveling, seeing new things, reading, playing the piano, crafting, camping, watching movies, and cooking, entertaining, baking, and playing games with my family, as well as friends. I absolutely LOVE going to the movies. My favorite movies are those based on historical events and places. I have a deep love for history and have a lot of historical places on my bucket list to visit. I LOVE chocolate and I LOVE Propel! They are my new favorite healthy drink! I LOVE shopping for school resources for my students to use in our classroom. Some of my favorites are TeachersPayTeachers, Really Good Stuff, Lakeshore Learning, and Oriental Trading Education to name just a few.

Mrs. Teichert is excited to enter her fourth year teaching 1st grade at Quest Academy because she enjoys sharing her love of math and science with young, bright minds.

After graduating from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Mrs. Teichert taught 4th and 5th grade for five years before starting her own family. During her time away from the classroom she kept her teaching license active and pursued an endorsement in math.

Math and science are “in her blood” as she fondly remembers taking science trips with her dad’s High School Biology classes and doing science experiments at home or learning about the night sky with him through their hand made telescope. She loves to see her students find the same joy in learning and growing!

Spending time with her family is probably her favorite activity, along with traveling, reading, and staying active. Her newest adventure has been participating in mini triathlons and hopes to work up to some bigger ones.

Hi! I’m Amanda Alexander, and this will be my sixth year of teaching, and first year at Quest. I am so excited about getting to know each of you and I am looking forward to all of the wonderful experiences I get to share with you all throughout the coming year.

I received my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development and Education from Texas Tech University, and I received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Walden University. I have taught students from Pre-K through 6th grade in Florida and Georgia. Then, I paused my teaching career when my family and I moved to Japan. Though I missed teaching, it was an incredible experience to immerse myself and my young children in the Japanese culture during our time overseas. After our time in Japan was over, we moved to Oklahoma briefly, and then we made it to the beautiful state of Utah. Now that we are settled here, I am excited to step back into the classroom!

We are a military family, which explains the moving around. My husband is a Major in the Air Force, and we have been married for 13 years. We have three children who are all attending Quest this year! In our spare time, we love to camp, go hiking, and you are sure to find us on a mountain somewhere skiing anytime there is snow on the ground. All of our family is from Texas, so we take advantage of any break from school to go and visit. I LOVE watching football- college (Go Red Raiders!) and professional (Go Patriots!). As a family, we love to travel and explore. We recently traveled to Spain, Germany, and Morocco. I love to play golf, do yard work, read, and watch movies with my family.

Here is to an incredible year!
Work hard, be kind!

Hi! I’m Susan Goldsbery, and this will be my third year here at Quest and teaching third grade. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Language Arts from Utah State University (Go Aggies!) and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Design from Weber State University. I am currently working on my STEM endorsement that will be finished at the end of this year. I retired from Weber School District in 2014 after 30 years of teaching. While in Weber District I taught 1st Grade, 5th Grade and the majority of my years, in my favorite grade, which is 3rd Grade. I have watched technology in education evolve over the years and love learning, teaching and using the new and exciting tools and applications that are available.

I was born and raised in Sunset Utah until my family moved to Ogden while I was at college. Yes, they told me where we were moving to. I have been married for 29 years to my amazing and wonderful husband Brian. We have 7 beautiful children six boys and one girl, who range in age from 27 to 14 years old. We have lived in Plain City for the past 19 years. When I’m not at school, you can find me where ever my kids are, or working on school. Some of my favorite things to do in my spare time is reading new books, cooking, going to movies, watching webinars, discovering new apps on my iPad, and shopping on amazon. Here are some other important things about me: I love blue and yellow. If you can’t find me check Swig getting a Dr. Pepper or Costa getting shrimp tacos! I honestly believe that we learn by trying, if we aren’t willing to try something new we will never learn anything new ether.

I am very excited to be teaching third grade for my second year of teaching at Quest Academy. Last school year I taught fourth grade. While this is my second official year of teaching, I was the STEM teacher here at Quest Academy for the 2015-2016 school year. It was a great way to begin my time here at Quest and to get to know the students, teachers, and faculty. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I am very excited for the opportunity to teach my own class.

In my spare time I enjoy doing crafts, bike riding, reading a good book, watching great movies and camping with my family. My favorite genre to read is mystery/ suspense novels, but I believe it is important to get a taste of different types of genres as a student. I played soccer growing up and I loved it! Wolves are my favorite animals. Scooby Doo is my all time favorite character and Batman is my favorite superhero. I grew up watching Scooby Doo and Batman! Batman is my favorite because he doesn't have any superpowers. Everything he has he's made it himself and learned how to do it. This is a great lesson for kids! You don't have to have super powers to be a super hero or to be good at something!

I am an only child, but was raised around children (my mom would babysit daily as I was growing up) and a dog. The dog we had then was Nakita (an American Eskimo) and our dog now is Dakota, Koda for short (an Australian Shepherd). I have always wondered what it would be like to have brothers and sisters. Our dogs are the closest I have come to having siblings. Even though I never had any brothers or sisters, I have truly cherished the time I have been able to spend with my mom and my dad through the years.

Every few years growing up we would go to Disneyland. In fact, we still do! Sometimes my dads entire side of the family would go, other times just the three of us. I guess you could call us fans of Disney! West Yellowstone is my favorite place to go camping. We have went there every summer for as long as I can remember. We have had different adventures in West Yellowstone each year: hiking, river rafting, visiting a ghost town or two (Virginia City and Nevada City), bike riding, etc. We have seen bears, moose, elk, buffalo...but no wolves.

There is a little bit about me. I look forward to learning about you, my students!

This is my first year teaching here at Quest and I am very happy to be a part of such a wonderful school! I am an experienced teacher, with lots of ideas to make this year amazing. I have been teaching fourth grade students for almost a decade. Fourth grade is an exciting time when students are beginning to read and understand more complex ideas, thinking independently, and learning to work with other students on large projects. Fourth grade is the best!

I graduated from Weber State University, and I ran a state licensed daycare with over 200 kids for 7 years. I have worked at Good Foundations Academy and Ogden Preparatory Academy, which are both charter schools. I also worked at WSU in the First Year Experience Program. I am a strong believer in education, and I was the first person in my family to go to college. I also have a background in graphic design, so I am a bit of a techie.

Something interesting about me is that I am also a professional abstract artist, and I paint on large canvases that I build myself. I have had some paintings published, and my art can be seen in local galleries from time to time. I have also painted murals, most recently at an elementary school in Ogden.

I love bright colors, flowers, reading, and travel. I recently came back from Venice, Italy, where I studied art for the summer. I have also travelled all over India. I have two fabulous kids of my own, an amazing husband, and two dogs.

I am looking forward to a fabulous year!

A little information on me – I received my bachelor’s in elementary education from Montana State University – Billings with a minor in special education. I received a master’s degree in education at Weber State University. Prior to coming to Quest I taught for Weber School District and taught for a short time in Louisiana.

I wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember. I care about each student in my class. I like to see young people grow and learn. I hope they become life-long learners. My other wish for them is to develop a love of reading. I have always loved books.

I am a wife and mother of two wonderful girls. One is in going to be in 12th grade and the other in 10th grade. My husband also teaches at Quest. He can be found in Q2. I am excited to be teaching the 5th grade. I have been at Quest for a number of years as both a parent and an employee and have loved both sides. I grew up in Harrisville as the youngest of seven. I currently live in Farr West with my husband and two sons. We have a small farm where my boys raise pigs and lambs for the Weber County Fair and have their own egg business. I love living on a farm where my kids can learn how to perform hard work and receive the benefits from it.
This will be my fifth year as a teacher at Quest. I originally started at the Jr. High and have since moved over to the Elementary. I have enjoyed both schools and value the experiences from teaching in different grades. I originally received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Resources. I continued my education by receiving my teaching certificate along with a Masters Degree in Education from Western Governors University.
When I am not teaching or thinking about teaching, which isn't very often, I enjoy many different activities. This last summer my family and I have enjoyed 4-wheeling. At home I like to sew, garden and hang out with my family. I do like to cook on occasion and have set a goal to be able to make homemade bread and cookies, that don't go flat. I have yet to accomplish this, but am still giving it a good try! I would love any recipes you might want to share to help me achieve this goal.
I teach my children that they can do hard things and I try and follow the same advice.
I am looking forward to a great year at a great school!

This is my first year teaching at Quest Academy. I grew up in South Ogden, Utah, and received my education from Weber State University. I have also lived in Idaho and California. I now reside in West Haven with my family. I am married to my best friend and we have four children together. I have a dog, named Ryder, and three cats. I love animals!
Whenever I have the chance, I like to travel. I have visited several countries and experienced many wonderful cultures. I recently spent time in Thailand on a study abroad trip with Weber State. I had the opportunity to meet many students while I was there during visits to two elementary schools and a university. No matter where I go, though, Utah will always be my favorite place.

My goal as an educator is to instill a love of learning within my students and to help them succeed. I am excited to be teaching fifth grade and I am looking forward to having an amazing year!

I am so excited to be teaching at Quest Academy this year! I graduated from Weber State University with my undergrad in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. This year will be my sixth year teaching elementary school!! I have primarily taught the younger elementary grades, so I am very excited to teach upper elementary this year!

I decided at a young age that when I grew up I wanted to work with children. Children are our future, and years ago I wanted to be part of something great. It wasn’t too much of a surprise while attending Weber State University that I had my teaching license before I knew it.

I enjoy being outside in nature by hiking in the mountains or gardening in my yard. I enjoy being mentally aware by a regular yoga practice, juicing my fruits and vegetables, and playing the piano. I enjoy tapping into my creative side by painting, taking photographs, and cooking new recipes. My biggest addiction right now just happens to be CLIPART! Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my charming husband; he is my best friend.
I look forward to a successful and wonderful school year. I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to teach at Quest. I will give my 5th Grade class everything I have this year.

I am very excited to make a move to 5th grade this year! For the last few years, I have worked with Jr. High Students here at Quest, loving every minute of it! I am thrilled with the opportunity to move to 5th grade and get to know my fabulous students. I have two children in high school, both of whom attended Quest Academy and loved their time here. As a family, we enjoy camping, hiking, and boating. I am an avid reader, and love to disappear into the world of a good book. I believe that books can open up new worlds to children, and engage their imaginations in a way that media simply can’t do. I always bring my love of literature into the classroom, giving plenty of opportunity for students to read and explore new things.
