I have had the privilege of working at Ogden Preparatory Academy since 2004. After being a founding member of the Quest Academy Board and serving as Board President, I am thrilled to get to begin a new journey as a teacher at Quest Academy. I am the mother of 7 kids, six of which have attended or will be attending Quest Academy. Education is so important to the future of our children, and I am so glad that I get to be a part of that process. I also have the privilege of working with the Natural History Museum of Utah to bring the educational program, “Research Quest” to classrooms across the state.

8-9 Math

I am so excited to be teaching 8th and 9th grade Mathematics again this year at Quest Academy. I have always loved Math and enjoy helping students as they learn new concepts and gain confidence in a subject that may be a challenge for them.
I earned my Bachelors Degree from Weber State University, where I also worked for 15 years. (Go Wildcats!!!) During my time as a student, I spent a semester in Mexico with a study abroad program. It was there that I met my husband, who was a WSU student as well. We have a set of twins (one boy/one girl) who keep us really busy.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. Some of our favorite places to visit include Bear Lake, St. George, and any place near an ocean.
I look forward to this school year and hope you enjoy it too.

Derick Roskelley

Derick Roskelley

PE

My name is Derick Roskelley and I am excited for my first year at Quest Academy! I look forward to continuing to build the Physical Education and sports programs to help our student athletes succeed.

I graduated from Morgan High School and had the opportunity to play baseball in Kansas and travel the Midwest during my early years of college. I missed the mountains and fishing and transferred back to Weber State University. I graduated in 2011, Majoring in Physical Education and Minoring in Health Promotion. Following student teaching at Ogden High School, I worked in the Ogden School District as a Health and Physical Education specialist at the Elementary level while coaching baseball at Ogden High School. With a talented coaching staff we turned a 0 win team at Ogden into a .500 team in a tough Region 11 in just three short years. Our countless hours of work were rewarded with the opportunity to coach the 2012 3A All-Star game at Lindquist Field.

I have spent the last three years teaching Physical Education, Health, and Weight Training at Oakgrove School working with students with a wide range of backgrounds and learning disabilities. I enjoyed the challenges of teaching my students how to properly compete and set and reach goals.

I love coaching, teaching, and pushing students and athletes to become their very best on and off of the field. I enjoy teaching students how to compete properly and have fun while doing so. Sportsmanship is an important part of my classroom management.

When not teaching or coaching I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, our two dogs, and two cats. We love traveling in our 1984 Chevy Lindy motor home and spend many summer nights at Bear Lake. I enjoy playing softball, camping, barbecuing and watching a good baseball game, fly fishing all over the West, guiding and teaching older “students’ my passion, and tying and designing local flies.
