Angela Young

6th Grade

Hello NEW 6th Graders!

My name is Mrs. Young, some of you may remember me as the 5th grade teacher, others may not. BUT what you all have in common now is I am your ELA (Language Arts) teacher.

I have been teaching for 19 years both in Ogden and Weber School District, and rested here at Quest Academy for the past 7 years of my career. I moved from Q1 to Q2 (Jr. High) last year and it was an amazing experience. I am SO excited to continue over here for the next 100 years. I loved Elementary, but Jr. High offers an intensity that knows no bounds. I know that as you start Jr. High over here, you will share the passion and love in learning as we do!

A little more about me: I LOVE singing, acting, being WEIRD. I help with the musical productions and have started the Jr. High choirs too. I know the need for artistic expression is so important and I love that I am able to share this with my students.

In class you will hear me break into song or crazy accents while teaching students about central ideas. I also make sure read aloud is a continuing activity throughout the ELA experience. Nothing is better than listening to a good book with funny character voices and intensive scenes. I want my students to remember or learn the JOY of reading.

In the end, if every child realizes how special they are and how they can achieve anything they put their mind to, I will feel their success of growth. SEE you soon! Don’t forget to read over the summer and enjoy the outdoors. Everything you experience helps in academics along with helping you become a better friend and human being!
